well, i did some reading last month and this week..off and on.

but such reads were not the normal type. they were outta the ordinary, in fact.

i didn't read a novel...well, not your conventional novel..with a plot..setting..characters and all'a that.

the book i read was the hagakure.


book of the samurai.


such a book won't be found in your non-fiction section..not even in your plays.
it's more of a self-help book. so yea. that's where it'll be found. if youre not interested in feudal japan or the samurai, then don't even bother on going on yer wild goose-chase to find this.

if you have no knowledge about ancient east asia..then..naw..dont bother. but shoot, u dont even need any of that. if youre interested in history, then cop it. read it. its pretty short. fast too. comprised of many passages....not just one long yawn about a buncha asian dudes cutting eachother down like oaktrees.

about me finding this...i heard about the text in my east asian studies class from first year. ever since then, i took it upon myself to look into it a little more.

besides, ive always been a huge fan of the samurai. so yea..there's a recommendable from mr. fart.

relating....buddy colin introduced me to this dope comicbook.

this is kinda different though. this is a so-called "adult" comic..or graphic comic..or manga.

this one..well, this one is about an asian dude and his toddler son cutting down everything in their path. bloody..gore-full...awesome!

and as mentioned before, take a look at ghostdog. that movie, an indie movie, has a strong basis on the hagakure.


and that my friends is my account of how i became a samurai for a brief instant of my life.

try it out. learn from them too. there's some stuff in there to take home and have your brain chew on for a minute........or several hundred.

all this talk about "japaneseness" has me thinkn bout the wild japanese rock-on chick in my coaching class with the intricate japanese tattoos all over her flesh...she is soo jockin' me. easy girl. easy.
