sotd: "we major" kanye west feat nas & really doe

ok ok....i knocked mr. kanyo before but i think imma have to get this late registration joint....and when i say get it, i mean i might have to get it TODAY! like now....like soon [you were supposed to say that in your best valley girl voice]. i hate his voice still but his production...his gatdamn production. ugh. i think slowly...slowly he's growing on me. we'll see - from what ive heard from this album so far - he spits hot fi-ahhh~~! what's more...his production is getting more and more intricate. he better not be kicking this "it's cool to not be intellectual" bullshit again like he did on his last one...i dont go for that.

noteable mentions:
- j-live's new album comes out today. i've sampled a couple tracks but i dont think its worth a buy. sorry j....imma have to pirate the copy. and who pirates faster than me on my ibook? i have yet to find that out.

- word on the streets is that com is gonna re-release "be" with some additional tracks. good think i didnt buy it yet...i'll wait and see.

- blackalicious is coming to t.dot on the 13th, rj you up for that?

- mos def married a canadian girl...and im not racist, but he married a white canadian girl. what ever happened to 'brown skinned lady' state of minds? beats me. gluck with the marriage, if it's true black dante.

- i might run the terry fox run on the 18th. anyone wanna pledge a 20 in my name? fuck that..join me!

be back in a few....

i just had to come back and state these:

chevy chase is hilarious.

a classic funnyman.
i just finished watching fletch - the mid-day movie on tv.
dont even get me started on national lapoons vacation or caddyshack.

ditto for jason alexander

[nice titties, jay]

and triple ditto for larry david -- the real life george costanza & star of curb your enthusiasm (aka my household's latest dvd box set)

papa smurf is cool too!

so i was reading homegirl toni's page...and it seems that virginians are back in the classroom already. all i gotta say about that is

sucks donkeys to be you!

looking at my watch, it appears that i go back to skool in t-minus-12 days. i have a few things i have to do -- paperworks and what not, but other than that, im in top shape to attack these books. york u, imma demolish you!

york lanes: the mall on campus

[that's the spot! falafel hut]

checking my bank account, i noticed that im rich, bitch! im like donald trump with all this extra cabbage, unfortunately and sad to say, all of this cheddar will be gone in a few days when i finally place my order on my new computer. but enough of this "down" talk, it's not a loss at all. shit, i can hardly wait for that 12" bad boy.

okay, that sounded really gay and pornographic. im outtie.

[i already have it figured out;
once i get my ibook, im gonna grow my hair out
and put cornrows in that bitch.
the "i" in ibook stands for "infamous". trust.]

p.s. not that there's anything wrong with being gay and pornographic...im just saying. geez.

it's funny...i just mention a few albums, and there on okp, they plug the new instrumental versions of two of those albums - those being the 'connected' foreign exchange instrumental album and the 'welcome 2 detroit' jay dee instrumental album.

im the truth, and you knew this.

anyhow, enough hoopla concerning myself...i like waking up myself. no, im not referring to my mom or dad shaking me slightly to wake up and no, im not talking about how my older brother used to rub his foot in my face all the while laughing till i saw my first rays of daylight, im talking about getting a good 10hrs in and having the morning sun burn your eyelids until they curl open.

there are roughly 2 weeks of summer left for you kids that call yourselves scholars. although it's gonna be painful and although this is basically gonna be a ghost year for me, i can hardly wait to get back into my groove. i gotta get my learn-on!

with going back in the fall, comes the-ever-important back to school shopping at walmart. 88cent stacks of paper, some cool pens, highliters, binders, pencil cases, lead pencils and other pointless things that i dont really need...like smelly mr. sketch markers or rubber dinosaur figures and bouncy balls.
speaking of things you dont need, why do flyers of big ass boxstores like staples, futureshop & bestbuy etc., advertise items such as pda's, cell phones, playstations and ghettoblasters as certified "back to school items"? since when did i need a pda...im not bill gates. shoot, im not even donald trump. and cellys??!!! anyone younger than higschool shouldnt need a cell phone. fuck emergencies, your kids shouldnt even be out late enough for an "emergency" to have to arise.

remember back in the days when everyone rocked pagers (beepers)? remember all of that? and you would code messages on your homie or girlfriend's pager? remember the different colors and styles? remember the different beep settings?

i dont need a cell phone right now and so it's known, i dont carry a celly (anymore). it's pointless for me. i carry a quarter. and if you wanna reach me, you'll find a way to reach me - either via friends with cell phones, morse code or smoke signal. believe me, you will be able to reach me. all this said, this does not mean i wouldnt mind bringing back the pager. it'd be a nostalgic throwback for me and a culture shock to all. do they even exist?..i mean crack dealers and doctors still use them....somewhere....right?

btw..i said "morse" code...not "morris" code. and for the record, it's definitely not "norris" code. that'd be ridiculous.

[since when did churck norris get
into the communication game?]

hit me on my hip.

or in abby and aaron's case, aged and more pungent like an old cheese.

in life youre lucky if you meet at least 1 person or friend who makes a difference in your life. for me, luckily, ive been blessed with that several times over.

happy bdays to both of you.

i might be getting older, but just remember, y'all are getting old with me.
best wishes.

hey you...come closer....

...closer....

you know, i think im getting paranoid.

the summer is coming to an end. i've done pretty much everything i wanted but in my heart, i know we can squeeze out just a few more drops of goodness out of this sweet fruit before skool and/or the "real world" starts.

i dunno what you think,
but i think this blog,
my blog, is starting to suck all of a sudden.

dull is me.

Now I was walkin' down this one block
Didn't hear a gun shot
Smellin' hell or nature
Pickin' fruit off of a kumquat
Tree another day up in this life under the sunspot
Light upon my inner-vision searchin' for an answer
Heredetory, man-in-glory, days of the missle fury inventory took
And while I raise
Rain began to fall from the verbal dance I did amaze all the natives
And the ladies said "You're crazy - would you love to have my baby?"
And I plays with the chief of the Mohicans and the Sheikh
And travelled everywhere from Delaware way up to Mozambique
Was givin' praise with the Deacon at the steeple
Spirit-seekin'on the weekend with a tea can and a pair of old shades

at the end of the day, no matter what bullshit happens, im thankful that i can go to my fox's den of a room, throw on some music and just relax. very few things have that same effect - some have drugs to sedate them, some use food. next to music, id say it's the late nite bus ride home from school back to home...but even then, my headphones have a lot to do with all of that. thank God for ears.

there's one point in the movie taxi driver when bobby de niro talks about how our bodies are getting soft and weak. he then exclaims that in order to further his cause, he's gonna have to start training hard and working out.

over the past few weeks, for whatever reason, my body has been deteriorating. it's getting soft. arnold once said that if it jiggles it's fat. although he never took water and the elasticity of skin into account, he's had me paranoid since reading those words a few years back.

it couldnt have been my diet, 'cause i eat right - very right. it's probably my absence from the gym and any form of physical activity. it's probably the alcohol consumption. all play and no work is probably what it is and this makes me feel like one big hypocrite.

"50, 49,48..."

and i call myself a physical educator.

it's 4am and im already devising a plan to get back on track and how im gonna train today.
we'll go grassroots; back to the basics....jump some rope and the mile.

"...34,33,32..."

"Jumping ropes, doing kicks, basic drills with the stick,

50 push-up in the clip on fists and wrists

Getting swollen on the block, lifting weights at the gym

Take the kids to the park do some techniques with them
Throw that hood
Work that cross, stick your moves tap that jaw

Tiger claw, lion paw, iron pawn cant be solved

Life is hard on the block, put your heart on the spot

You gon’ ride or youre not?

Brawn first, get the drop (it’s c-lo for push-ups)

Getting big with the click, keep it tight like a fist

Everybody hit the deck nigga four, five, six

Add it up, hit the block, no search - add it up,

Skinny niggas getting guts, sisters too, get the needs of fight
No girl Push-ups
RBGs 50-50 let me see what you got,

Nigga don’t just watch me do it with me,
You can do it through your breath from your gut not your chest,

Push ‘em out make ‘em count go all-out
Count them out nigga"

sick my duck

over the past few entries, ive blessed you with things that are great. here, very randomly and with ease off the top of my head, i'd like to present you 10 wack things.

  • pomegranate juice
pomegranate juice seems to be the staple of everyone in hollywood. it has antioxidant effects & is chalk full of vitamins. it also has a mighty high price tag per glass -- this ain't no kool aid, that's for sure! what irks me about pom juice is that you can buy so many cartons of orange and mango juice for the exact same price without the calories. shit sells just because...well, just because everyone wants to be a star. posers.

  • bohemian skirts
i hate these. i dont give a fuck who said this was the latest trend for the summer. i hate this shit. i dont think girls should wear this, no matter how comfortable it is -- yall look like a bunch of jackasses wearing them. i dont know if it's the way the skirt flows or the whole ruffled look or even the pastel colors, i hate these "gypsy" skirts. if i catch you wearing one of these, then you better be prepared to read my palm, a deck of tarot cards or my tea leaves....although, i for some reason seem to like it when khmer girls rock these..it just works (im puzzled myself).

  • rich people
this is pretty much universal standard thought. the rich ain't done shit for me...'cept pay my bills. from not cleaning after themselves in the food court to not being able to properly drive expensive automobiles, to not properly lighting the exterior of their mansions. but fuck, imagine i was caucasian and white???....i just did, i wouldnt change my life for that any day. we call it a beautiful struggle.

  • fake tans
white folks tanning and turning a nasty orange tinge is one thing, but people who are naturally dark and who tan are another. why? but back to white folks tanning...it's a paradox in itself isnt it? a few decades ago, "colors" were judged by the color of their skin negatively, rather than the content of their character. that's still often the case today but shouldn't that apply to todd and sally with their 3 month hawaiian rub on or their visits to the sunbed? apparently not.

  • humidity
here in my hood, ontario, canada, we just went through a record breaking 40+ days with temperatures above the 30 degree celsius mark plus extreme humidity. your body cant even sweat properly to cool itself. on something after the 40-something day of this madness, God gave us a break and let it cool down at around 28 degrees..but now, it's back to this madness. stay hydrated, take your showers and stock up on the antiperspirant.

  • the price of gas
at around 1am last nite while driving around, i had to rub my eyes not once...not twice, but thrice! gas was 1.02 cents per litre! i dont know how that converts to gallons for you americanos reading this, but that's a lot of money for petro! the gas companies fucking gouge you in your eye and wallet and there's nothing you can really do about it. you say smart car, but a smart car isnt really practical in the winter here in canada. believe me, once that bitch hits black ice, youre a goner and all of that saving the environment and/or money won't mean shit when youre 6ft. deep. i've been telling yall for years, my solution to the whole energy crisis is the flux capacitator like doc used in all installments of back to the future. yes, the flux capacitator would not only allow us to solve our extreme consuming & wasteful urges as humans, but also the whole limited fossil fuel problem. fuck diesel, homie, pass me the banana peels and egg shells, we're gonna time travel too, biotch!

  • messy rooms
they say a messy room is the sign of a genius. if that's the case, then im gonna be responsible for finding the cure for aids and cancer. i admit, my room is messy...no, im not addicted to drugs, so please tell me parents not to be alarmed just yet...and no, i dont need some kind of space saver for my closet...and no im not even gonna start vacuum packing my clothes. messy rooms suck because, well...i can't find anything i need! at the beginning of the day, i take my clothes off the floor and throw them in my bed...at the end of the day, i toss all the clothes back on the floor. i try and be as efficient as i can with my energy before i retire for the day. im such a slob when im grinding.

  • biters
whether youre my homie or not my homie, biting is not cool. find your own niche bitches. copying someone else's shit is not cool unless it's for a 20+ page report on shoulder subluxation. this also applies to clothing, shoes, girls and swedish penis pumps.
"when i try and get a piece of mind...fools are trying to get a piece of mine."

  • toilet paper
i forget what my beef curry with toilet paper was. probably something about how there is never enough or probably something about how it goes to shreds when you wet that little square. we have automatic soap dispensers, automatic flushers, automatic taps, automatic hand dryers, automatic washroom lighting to conserve energy and automatic doors...where the fuck are the automatic ass-wipers? is there no infra-red beam that can detect when shit stops squeezing out of your butthole?

  • computers
computers are constantly outdated. the technology changes hourly and your computer becomes as old and played out as one of those big ass station wagons with the wood paneling. eventhough i cant function as a student without one, computers suck donkeys.

    all in all...
    yo, them shits is wack.

i try not to watch the news whenever possible.
the only news they show is bad news.
i need good news, but it's so hard when you wanna stay informed.

the major networks propagate bad news to make you paranoid and keep you tuned into what future possible bad news might happen. this is called business.

im off to dinner with my family and my oldest brother's family. my second oldest brother, the electrical engineer is footing the bill. it's his first pay cheque at his real career in his field.

    im so proud of him.

there's youre good news on my part.

a bird just flew into my window as i was typing this.
could that be some kind of omen?

    im out.

    peace.

    again with the insomnia.

someone (probably my dad) turned off the a/c in the middle of the nite. that's why im here; well that and the fact that i had to pee.

so i didnt mention the whole air france incident here in toronto. if you didnt know, an air france plane burst into flames after overshooting the runway at pearson international airport. the miraculous thing is that all 390 passengers survived the crash and there were a mere 14 injuries that wouldnt even be close to falling into the "serious" category.

usatoday.com denies calling this a miracle.

fuck that, i say it was a miracle. whether youre a spiritual person or not,to say that better air plane materials..or lighting...or the type of air freshener used in today's commercial planes or whatever reason was the main factor in survival rate is bogus. if that's the case, then why are there so many other massive plane accidents where people die? this was truly a miracle. whether you like to connote miracles as "luck" or not...this was the will of a higher power.

390 with mere scrapes and bruises.

in other news, the local asian supermarket by my hood - the same one where i bought the mango & peach drink mentioned in my last post (see below), is closing down. theyve been having a big sale since last thursday where everything is buy one get one free. im left here to wonder, does this really apply to everything????

i should head over there real soon and stock up on mango nectar, shrimp chips, some short ribs (the same kind that i threw up at camping two weekends back) tofu and hotsauces...and what the heck, let's throw in some strawberry pocky.

i would usually feel heavy-hearted at the fact that an asian market on the scale of big land farms is closing down, but im not, because even closer to my hood, probably a 15 minute walk for me, a T&T supermarket is opening up. my family has been blessed twice.

and who wouldve thought my community, mississauga, started off with the pioneer asian market - the old and dingy "oriental market" over on dundas and confederation? who wouldve thunk it?

asian earned dollars into asian pockets; aint nuttin wrong with that.

    for sale.

tonight m. night shamalamalamlammyalamlan's films were on two, yes (you heard it right) two channels during prime time. on abc - the american broacasting corporation, we had the sixth sense while on cbc - the canadian broadcasting corporation, we had signs. both are great movies which have me strongly considering whether or not to start an m. night shama- whatever his name is/the famous indian-american (i hate hyphenated titles..but i had to use that here, sorry) director branch in my dvd collection. he's up there once i begin my kubrick branch, my kurosawa branch and my spike lee branch. simply masters at their craft. i must say though, i didnt think the village was all that. it had me going for a while but i should let you know...the ending is wack.
    yeah, i said it's wack.
and there's your poignant film critique of the day from me.

moving on to other dvd talk...
today is august 1st. that can only mean that tomorrow is august 2nd. your saying to yourself "so what if it's august 2nd?....the sky is blue...pigs are fat....feet stink. what else is new jay?". well tomorrow is august 2nd - and august 2nd just happens to be a tuesday. but tuesdays are a little more significant than being the 2nd day of the week -- tuesdays are new release days. tuesdays are when i check out the record stores and movie stores.

"yea and?...so what jay? lemons are sour...japanese cars are fuel efficient...implants are wack. what else jay?"

[i just found out theyre the syndicated versions.
oh well, what's 2 minutes cut out of each episode?]

well tomorrow, august 2nd, a tuesday just happens the be the day that i've been waiting for since i found out they started throwing tv shows on dvd. it's been five years since my enlightenment and im glad to say that tomorrow, the cosby show season I becomes available to me on dvd. tomorrow on my lunch break, im heading to the store and copping that sum'bitch. therefore, tomorrow, when i get home from work around 5pm, youd be best advised to not even attempt to contact me.

a classic in it's own right...
the other day, i got this voucher for 30% off all shoes at footlocker. before attempting to ring up the air max 90s (they will be mine) i tried on though, i realized that they failed to inform me that "all shoes" really means all shoes except for the air max 90s.

    stupid ass mother hubbards!

so what did i do? i bought the next best thing...the adidas shell toe aka the adidas superstar II. a classic in it's own right. but you dont even gotta take my word for it.

take run dmc's word for it.

    My Adidas
    walk through concert doors
and roam all over coliseum floors
I stepped on stage, at Live Aid
All the people gave an applause that paid
And out of speakers I did speak
I wore my sneakers but I'm not a sneak
My Adidas cuts the sand of a foreign land
with mic in hand I cold took command
my Adidas and me both askin P
we make a good team my Adidas and me
we get around together, rhyme forever
and we won't be mad when worn in bad weather
    My Adidas..
    My Adidas..
    My Adidas

    "who got's the juice now?..."
those were famous lines towards omar epps aka "G-Q" from the classic ghetto movie juice. however, in this case "juice" has a very different meaning.

    [sweet nectar]

finally, i'd like to give mad props to the local asian supermarket by my crib. they just got in a new flavour of my favourite sweet nectar in a big ass carton. at first i was infatuated with their mango flavour..but now those cats came out with mango and peach flavour juice. im not a big fan of peach juice but the peach here rounds it out...unless youre accustomed to the sharp mango taste which is amazing on its own. i think theyre both great. you dont think imma end up being some kind of polygamist, do you?

    that's peanuts!
    God bless alphonso juices.

    bonus/just recalled into memory entry

    i sold a man women's pants yesterday
his wife or his sister was with him
he knew they were women's pants
    he tried them on
    i sold a man women's pants yesterday

they cannot be mistaken for men's pants

these pants had a big waist band with fancy detailing and buttons
he tried on 3 different pairs

    he tried them on

he tried on 3 different pairs
    he must like women's pants

    i sold a man women's pants yesterday.

    bizarre.
