they took away my blogger profile picture of dr. sulu.
what the hell!
anyways, i decided to take a break from studying and post this picture. this is actually an old one..and not even the original version (to be posted at a later date).
cant say anything about it that it can already say on its own.

in the meantime, i'll let you bask in the glorious rays of my gaze.

i like the simple things about my boys.
all in all we're really primitive. i mean if i have a craving for popeye's chicken, well...it doesnt take that much, like me twisting their arms and ankles to get them to come with and join me in a dirty-bird eating fest.

since we ate crap...i figure, we might as well have a couple drinks too.
cheers tonite, homies.

1 more exam mofos..then it's dim sum with my skool peeps after.
holla.

and really..if youre wondering...where's all this money coming from?
in brief, i made $50 for two hours of work yesterday.
fo'shizzle!
and in case you were wondering, no, this cash had nothing to do with me performing "favours" for sexually-unsatisfied women - aged 35yrs and older.
(f.y.i.)

happy weekend, kids~!

"get to the weekend, jay...get to the weekend."
that's my approach.
it's been my approach for the last 3 years.
my approach works.

lazy as fuct.

wow, im one lazy motherfucker...there's about 0 (that's zero..not typo "o" as in "oh"..oh hungry, oh henry! or "o" as in oliver or "ohhh gawwwd larry, youre so well-hung and long, give it to me, daddy!" not "o". but you knew that) inspiration to do anything this semester. i think ive stated this in the past but really, i have these two midterms this upcoming week and for some reason, im not feeling the usual anxiety that comes along with writing those bastards. am i that much of a veteran by now?
whoa.

i watched a borrowed bootleg dvd version of supersize me today. ive been wanting to watch that for months and finally my wishes were answered (not that i really wished to see that; i ration my wishes). yes, it is bias but think about it, arent all documentaries bias? if you really wanted to see the real deal on whatever the subject matter is, then you should go out there and shoot your own documentary to see whats going on..oh yea...and minus your edits. other than that, from a kinesiologist's (fancy word for gym teacher with a degree) point of view, that one gets a thumbs up from me. shit, it even gets a double flexor hallucis longus on my part (imagine that)!
i remember reading some girl's review of the movie on rbj or aa when the movie first came out. she ranted on and on about how nobody eats mickey d's 3x a week for 30 days and beyond that, without exercise. well news flash you fucking idiot (girl), of course nobody eats that garbage everyday and of course nobody abstains from physical activity to the extremes that morgan does in the doc..but fuck, there are people out there who sure come close! and he addresses that too. his main objectives are to show you that:
  • mc donald's could do more for their customers to provide healthy alternatives
-how many people out of the billions and billions served actually order a salad when they go to mickey d's? if you go to eat junk, youre probably gonna eat junk..thats your main intent.
  • mc donald's is a vulture of a business
-now, i aint no business major but it doesnt take a donkey's brain at most to realize that mc donald's has their shit together from the business side. they know people demand quick, accessible, fatty & delicious food and they capitalize off of this general need by giving them what you want. simple. theyre just trying to make a dollar like the rest of us. however, what's not cool is the way mc donald's, the biggest fast food corporation on earth, oversaturates the television media with their ads and lures children into their establishments via happy meal freebies and indoor playgrounds. whats not cool is how they train kids at a very young age to associate good times with hamburgers - cause isn't that what a happy meal is supposed to do (starting from a young age) - make you happy? that's worst than the marlboro man!
  • the world is changing (for the worse)
-morgan's main focus in the movie is the epidemic of obesity spreading across america. this should have everyone shitting their pants as canada tends to follow suit whenever the u.s. has a certain trend or set of trends going on. and once the u.s. does it, europe follows..and eventually some parts of asia. [sidenote] remembering a 2nd year course, i was surprised to find out that asians in north america are slowly following their white and black counterparts by becoming overweight and obese. which should have you banging your head against the wall because most traditional asian diets are plant and fish-based (focussing very little towards meat), considering the resources available and that usually only the very wealthy enjoy purely meat dishes each and everyday.[end sidenote] what im saying here is that we've been taking advantage of the american diet and fattening our genetically-predisposed small and lean frames. the steamed bun has been replaced with the chicken wing and rice has often been banished from the lunchbox for white slices of wonderbread. one thing that wouldve really been dope, if included, was if he illustrated how clothing sizes have also changed since decades ago. 'smalls' arent what smalls were back then and neither are 'mediums' and 'larges'. of course we've all read the scientific literature and know that we're generally bigger than our ancestors. but that only accounts for lets say 40% of the additional growth here. sure we've grown taller with denser bones. but wider? if we've genetically adapted ourselves to allow our bodies to grow in height (which is healthy) does that necessarily mean we should increase our waist sizes 3..and sometimes 4-fold from what our great great grand-mommies and daddies measured? no. a lot of our clothing size increases have to do with overeating, the on-rise of technolocigal advances (making our lives gatdamn too easy and effortless), genetically modified and steroid-rich foods and a dramatic decrease in everyone's participation in physical activity. that's why our sizes are bigger! and what does that mean? that means we're blindly accepting the fact that it's ok to get big because really, we'll always be able to fit into our usual size - thanks to the big wigs on the top floor who run clothing standards (those mofos always accomodate our overeating with their new measurements. curse the bastards!). in addition to this 'the world is changing' heading, he touched on something that i knew already, but scared me nonetheless to hear. he noted school reform and how physical education programs are getting cut out. across the board, kids are getting lower and lower grades [for whatever reason - too much t.v., drugs, masturbation, sex etc...(insert your favourite afterschool special topic here)]. as a result, more time is being dedicated to studying and theory time so kids can absorb the content better. the downfall of this is that recess is being shortened (i.e. less moving around & getting exercise); couple this with 'less important' academic programs such as physical education is being scraped so billy or sally can take that extra hour to understand verbs and nouns. im not saying it's a bad thing to dedicate more time to studying...but flip the coin, and you'll see that im totally against scraping physical education courses - especially for kids...in this day and age (you wait school boards across the land, im gonna make a difference, you just wait and see..my fist is in the air..you just wait!). not just that either, what if i teach??? i'll be jobless in the future! then what? how am i supposed to feed my kids? how am i supposed to buy my wife those shoes she wanted to charge on my plastic (im joking here..you know "ha...ha". it's really all about health, and you know this).

"im gonna steal your motherfuckin' soul, kids!!"

k, now im just rambling at the odd hours of the morning...imma call it quits for this entry and studying tonite.
    im gonna catch some ZZZZZZzzzzzzz's.

we'll continue this discussion some other time, children.
    my point, watch the documentary.
    it's not bad.

[15-mins later revision to the update]
    speaking of eating...
i was checking out the hebrew hotdogs homepage and hey...they do have those wieners available here in ontario!
loblaws, zehrs and no frills, im comin' at'cha!

hey gang, now that the super-virginia post has had time to marinate it's time to fill you in on a few things. october's here and that spells midterms for everyone! for the next few days, we'll see if i post entries under stress as an outlet or if i'm a real hardcore student. probably the former, which you'll find.

anyhow, i just wanted to let all those in love with music know a few things:

    for the rockers:
do you hear what i hear?
i have my listening test for my rock class this coming wednesday where i gotta state the artist, song title and year of 25 out of roughly 120 songs. you, on the other hand can listen to the playlist here, just dont tell the labels that i told you..cause really, i dont have the copyrights to do that..and i doubt my prof does either.

    for the bboys and bgirls:

    [crown city rockers]

3 albums you must devote your attention towards are...
  • the roots - the tipping point
  • jill scott - beautifully human
  • crown city rockers - earthtones
(you'll really like this bay-area sound, r.j. trust.)
  • mos def - the new danger
(comes off with a lethal fusion of rock, funk and hip hop...my favourite m.c. of the moment..and this sophmore album has been 5 years in the making waiting!)

oops..i lied, that was 4 albums, not 3. i have a hard time counting without using my fingers.

also, the maroons (not maroon5 , goofs..read! read, dammit, read!) have a new album coming out in the next few weeks...the 26th of october i believe. peep the super-nice album cover art here.

last but not least, i have yet to get the new danger, mentioned above. and in addition, from secret sources...mos def will be playing the docks on the 27th of this month! so if youre in the t.o. area, check it out. but shhhh..y'all didnt hear that from me.
    anyone wanna join me?
    check your budgets..i will too.

peace out, children..and gluck on exams.
for some of you...3/4 of the year left till you graduate!!!
    can you dig that?!!!

i dunno, but for some reason, whenever i get away; whether it be camping or someone's birthday bash or even a road trip/mini vacation, it doesnt take that much to get me and my homegirls and homeboys all excited. in other words, spending large sums of cash and going to extravagent places aren't things that make a good trip a great trip - i whole-heartedly feel that it's who you're with that makes the whole experience. then again, i cant speak for all who took part in this past long weekend and virginia road-trip - the above statement might just be my cheapskate alter-ego talking, who knows?

whatever the case, i'm sure we can all agree that
    VIRGINIA WAS DA BOMB.

    [abs & japes]

    [the cheesecake factory]

hebrew hot dogs: ruler of the salted and cured meat kingdom
i've had some good hotdogs in my lifetime; some composed of chicken, some composed of pork, some were vegan-friendly and some were a mysterious combination of nitrates, snouts and hooves. although each were good in their own right, nothing beats the delicious juicy flavour of hebrew national 100% kosher beef hot dogs. i mean those wieners were like whoa. i can't state that enough. our first day of breakfast there [in fairfax, virginia] had me rolling my eyes back into my skull out of pleasure while i devoured 5 giant sized hebrew red-hots for breakfast followed by 2 later on in the day. all i can say is hebrew national, you have a mean giant wiener. i sure hope you americans are thankful to have access to this resource (i'd be).
    [hebrewnational.com]

"are those hebrew national 100% beef kosher hotdogs i smell? booya! REPRESENT!!"

[champps: is this a gameshow rocky?]

    [washington d.c.: my peoples]

[we bring our antics to the u.s.]

    the intinerary
  • friday

  • - left mississauga ON at 3:30p.m.
-3 roadstops in between: buffalo, New York & a couple in Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh and some boonieville locale)
gas refills and splurging on junk food (20pack nuggets for snacking and that triple decker wendy's burger. why are you so delicious yet so nasty to me, junk food? why?)
-arrived in fairfax, VA at roughly 2am
welcomed by abs and gus..damn i love that pooch and the way he chews on my hand and smells my crotch.

  • saturday

  • -breakfast fit for kings and queens [including delicious hebrew hotdogs mentioned above, pandasal (sweet and tasty filipino rolls), fried eggs, ham, and my special formulated o.j.]
    -potomac mills outlet mall
a lot of mexicans, a lot of sales and...an indoor skate-park?
    -dinner at cheesecake factory
and no, it's not just cheesecakes! and how about that location???...a really posh mall. too big butt for my liking..yanno, "big butt" can't fly coach..that 'big butt'. nonetheless, a flawless meal with good company. and dare i mention the hard time i gave the waiter ("excuse me, how big is the soup? exactly how many millilitres does the bowl hold?")???

  • sunday

  • -brunch at i.h.o.p.
    -quick GMU tour
a really nice school and also a place that will forever be etched in my memory and heart; me and j.p. took part in a tag team bowel movement of sorts there.
-2-hr journey through virginian farmlands to UVA to pick up toni
lush pastures and never-ending blue skies and rolling hills would have anyone enjoying the scenery - unfortunately, i fell asleep in the back of the car. as for UVA, we visited edgar allen poe's room, the historical buildings and the big ass football stadium that puts any canadian university stadium to shame. damn you americans and your funding to athletics..damn you!! i'm booger-green with envy!
    -dinner at sakura
think that scene in beverly hills ninja where chris farley disguises himself as a japanese master chef on the grill. except this was the real deal but just as funny. onion volcanoes and shrimp tossing into mouths (and eyes???)..what more could you ask for? me personally, could use some more of those chicken livers (mmmm goodness)

  • monday

  • -another stellar breakfast prepped by abby's mom (thanks tita!)
pancakes and never-ending bacon!! not hebrew hotdogs but pretty damn good in its own right.
-hopped on the metro to washington d.c.
checked out the holocaust museum, the washington monument, the vietnam war memorial, the WWII memorial and the lincoln memorial. this was the mecca of america's patriotism. i know i mock it at times, but to be there and bear witness in the nation's capital...well i really admire y'all for that. it's different when youre there rather than some canadian at home looking at the rest of the world from your glass tube.
    -pentagon city mall
snacked and took some pictures (w/ strangers??? hahaha)
    -relaxing dinner at home
carbonara & garlic bread by abs and her moms
-short walk out in the cold....
oops, that's your entry abs. mah bad.
[read here for a different perspective of the trip]

[if that's your hand..and that's abs'..then mine must be holding...??..!!]

    [ahhh my friends]

    jay's roadtrip 10
    1. cheap gas station junk snacks on the road
    2. boonieville gas stations and other roadstops
    3. open windows to "freshen" the air of 3 (male, rude) passengers
    4. good driving music
    5. jack-knifed trucks on the highway + detours
    6. high-caffine & other illegal-in-canada stimulant "energy" drinks
    7. stealing paper toilet seat-covers from gas stations
    8. thrill-full/"good" anxiety at customs
    9. pictures; both stupid and semi-artistic
    10. sunrise

a playlist entitled "the best of me" (how you like that title? hahaha)
(avail. on md or 5-volume cd set for 39.95 while supplies last!! cop dat.)
i dont wanna brag, but ive made some dope playlists in the past. however, for this trip, i put together errr wanted to put together some selections that me and the boys and possibly anyone in their 20's would all like and relate to. im sure one way or another, every song here has some connection to our individual histories and besides that, these joints and jams were the shit back in the day..and still are (in our minds). enjoy.

[song of the update - "like this anna" - j-live]

    "You're so fly, Anna
I can't let nobody desecrate my Anna
    I'm not your man, Anna
I just really want you to understand, Anna
    Life is rough, but, uh
Somebody cares enough to tell you this stuff, Anna"

i was gonna go do some reading; i was gonna go attempt to make a difference in my own life; i was gonna do some homework cause i was tired of being lazy but i had to skim through my daily blog reads, first; my flaw for being so in-tune with such compelling blogs.

    one specifically caught my attention...
deena authored an entry posted last monday (unfortunately i just read it today), which specifically had an opening directed towards me. now i've been dissed on the internet, terrorized and threatened for several different reasons on several different accounts but this one takes the cake! a woman's fury...wow.

    let's reenact [moments ago]...

[1. the night began with an innocent civilian surfing the internet...]

[2. till he came across something stunning...something he couldn't believe]

    [3. me???]

how many girls can you describe as having beautiful features with xena-like rage and mentality?
    how many girls are educated?
how many girls love to run and stay fit for all the right reasons?
how many girls boast about their calculator?
how many girls have a keen sense of fashion surpassing others?
how many girls can you say have their shit together and their heads screwed on right?

i can't give you the exact statistics and answers to these questions, but i do know one - and she be dee (weeeeeeeeee - i had to add that..i was on a roll with the rhyme).

    she's got it goin' on.

unfortunately, and to my surprise she's single.
but i gotta say, and this goes out to all single women waiting for the right guy to come around - keep on keepin' on. i mean keep being yourself cause in this world, man needs you and not the big-titted, big-ass skanks that have no direction, no positive self-image or self-worth.
and that's not to mention a woman who's capable of raising some kids with.
and how about those self-providing hunnies that don't need a man to put food on the table or clothes on the kids backs? these are women.

remember, woman is the best thing to ever happen to man.
so keep being the woman you are and be patient.
we see that and we know that.
also...here's something that the nice girls need to read.

    sorry, mz. deena.

    [these eyes don't lie, really]

    like this anna
It's like this, Anna, it's like that, Anna
I'm only starin' cause your ass is so fat, Anna
I noticed as soon as you walked up in the place, Anna (damn!)
You can't blame a man for havin' good taste, can ya?
That's not fair, Anna, it's not right, Anna
Please turn around or I'll be starin' all night, Anna
So many men, Anna, they wanna play, Anna
They all wanna get their name up in your day planner
I swear, even if it's only for a day, Anna
For a majority, you'd be the only way, Anna
It's on you, Anna, what you gonna do, Anna?
I'm hopin' that's the type of man you see through, Anna
Whether you're lookin' for mÚnage or a matrimony
A man say he wanna be your lovin' friend, homey
Just keep your eyes open so that you can spot a phony
A lot of snakes wanna get up in your tenderoni
Unless you're just horny and wanna ride a pony
You'd rather be left alone than left lonely
It's like this, Anna, we both know, Anna
It's kinda nice when a man spend dough, Anna
Although, Anna, you can't salary cap your mojo, Anna
You're not a ho, Anna, it's okay if all systems ain't go, Anna
You gotta tell a brother 'no means no,' Anna

    It's like this, Anna
this is a message to my homegirl, Miss Anna
    You're so fly, Anna
I can't let nobody desecrate my Anna
    I'm not your man, Anna
I just really want you to understand, Anna
    Life is rough, but, uh

Somebody cares enough to tell you this stuff, Anna

Hey yo, you can either dance and check the rhyme later or hear me out now
A lot of these ballers at the plate don't care if they fair or they foul
It doesn't mean that you should stop trustin' all brothers, straight
    throwin' in the towel
The next just might just be just right, like Baby Bear style
But choose wise, don't bother with the knucklehead that can't teach you shit
And never ever think you gotta tolerate a man that's gonna beat you, kid
But please don't toy with their heads like 'green light 1, 2, 3,''
Cause that's the kinda blue ball game that even frustrates guys like me
But you're ill, girl, full o' ideas, like the five-figure salary career
And a education take you ten years
And a man that'a give you both ears
When you talkin' about your hopes and your fears
And you're damn near about to shed tears
Cause your baby been coughin' all day
And the daddy ain't there and won't pay
And there's so much drama round the way
Cause the streets are too dangerous to play
And the world got you feelin' insecure
Cause you think you're fine, but you're not sure
But your beauty lies not just in your booty
But your face, all natural (it's a cutie!)
Don't you ever let the bullshit blind you
If you forget, I'll be quick to remind you

p.s. youre not an old maid - you got your whole life ahead of you.
p.s.s. dont let a relationship define you; i never do that. and besides, we're just guys.
p.s.s.s. im not an asshole; but if that was your interpretation of the situation, then i can respect that.
p.s.s.s.s. im not a boy, im a man (hear me roar).

im really lazy this year. i dunno if that's due to me being in school a mere 3 days a week or if it's because the content of my courses has me underminding them or if it's just cause im not being stimulated enough...whatever the case, im a lazy 3-toed sloth born with 2 additional toes.

i should be doing work right now..but naw, im lazy!
    why do work?
in fact, here's a quick update:

  • vioxx was pulled from the shelves
with good measure too, cause my mom was prescribed that junk a couple years ago for her arthritic knee. being the wise nurse she is, she refused to take anymore after 'gut feelings' that it just wasn't the shit.

  • im heading down to virginia this canadian thanksgiving weekend
i hope everyone has a good weekend where you can just chill out with your family or friends and stuff your face like there's no tomorrow. actually, i hope everyone takes a moment to be thankful for whatever they have...if youre having a hard time and/or you have nothing to be thankful for, then be thankful you can read such glorious masterpieces as the posts i put up here in my blogger (that's called "sarcasm", folks).

  • it's cold where i live. very cold.
  • the montreal expos are gone.
  • rodney dangerfield & janet leigh have passed away
  • if youre younger than me and you know chuck norris and love the wonder years theme song, you deserve a gold star on your forehead
my friend was telling me how he had this conversation with his two housemates - both being 2nd year students at his school (i.e. roughly 18 or 19 years of age). he explained how they never heard of chuck norris - of american karate superstardom and delta force fame..not to mention his total gym spiel. i think that's crazy! and don't even get me started on the blank faces of the freshmen during the playing of joe cocker's "with a little help from my friends" during my rock 'n' roll class today! a song which was also the theme to one of the greatest t.v. shows of all time...the wonder years! if you dont know of the past existence of these things, then you really don't deserve to be in charge of the world's future. honestly. these are important things to know!! actually, it's all really trivial.

  • when i cant even think of another point to post up - deserving of a 'quick update', then that's my cue to get the hell outta here.
    see ya next week, gang!

  • here's a little story that must be told...

[no,this is not my idea of marriage, calm yourselves
(what'd she eat anyhow? a spicy tuna roll?)]

a random excerpt from a random post off rbj:
"i love being married to a person who makes me laugh.

usually, it's not because he's trying to make me laugh. take yesterday for example, j [not me] and i were looking through the sunday paper (sunday mornings are our favourite, because it is the one day of the week that we can sleep in together, have eggs & toast for breakfast together, and read through the sunday paper/comics together (j works on saturdays) and as i looked through the target ads (i LOVE target), i saw some sofa slip covers that i thought were cute.

"hey, why don't we get slip covers for our couches?"
he looks up at me for a moment, and says,
"why dont we just crochet instead?"
(translation: old people use slip covers. old people crochet. i'd rather crochet than use slip covers.)

most times, i'm laughing at him, rather than with him. because his mind moves faster than his lips, and he can never quite transpose his thoughts into words fast enough for the world outside his head to comprehend them. about 70% of what comes out of his mouth usually doesn't make sense, which i love about him because i think it's cute.

i like that anecdote. it reminds me of me. and no, i dont have a big ego. i am that guy...very similar to her hubby.

and i think when i eventually get married, id want my wifey and i to love eachother for those things; the little quirks that define a person's personality. i dont wanna get all sentimental in this post but isn't that what most people yearn for (sorry, i just had to use that word, as i saw it on an old seinfeld episode yesterday between a conversation between george and kramer), to be wanted or needed regardless of our flaws? im not perfect. shoot, nobody's perfect. it just matters when two people are perfect for eachother (keep your 'awwws' to yourself...didnt i read that quote on someone's asianavenue page back in the day?). i just think it'd be really satisfying and cool to hear my wife say, "yea jay's a fucking idiot, but i love him - so sue me!". i'd love her for that. but enough of this marriage talk, that's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the road for me (i think so/i plan so). but then again, all of that can just spontaneously happen beyond my control...sorta like that spontaneous combustion or that flesh eating disease. im not saying marriage is harsh like that..oh shit..i didnt mean that either. im not saying marriage is harsh at all(.) i'd like to get marri- ah forget it.

told yall i dont make sense (i make dolla-dollars!).
    oh!
