it's 10 on a friday nite. im here eating these fig bars that i bought about a week ago. considering that theyre still soft and chewy, i have come to the conclusion that there must be alot of fat or shortening in the dough to make it that soft for that long in under normal, open air room temperature conditions. nasty, but funny how i can still eat those shits huh?

it's 10 on a friday nite and i needed to get out cause frankly, ive been studying my ass off for the last week, i just had to exams and although i have this big one that ive been bitching and moaning about on monday, i felt it would be in the best interest to give myself a break and get out for a bit. otherwise, i woulda grabbed my gym bag. find some stash of guns - if we had any guns here, like they do in the u.s. and go on a mailman like rampage. yes, that WOULD happen if i didnt give myself a break once in a while. so yea, i thought i needed a break. however, noone seems to be calling me back since i informed the boys that id be on the beat of the mean streets tonite. thanks you fucking retards, wherever you are.

it's 10 on a friday nite and someone just called my house. my dad picked up the phone, and questioned hello in that filipino dad sorta tone. he repeated it several times - as i know, cause i was listening from upstairs. the intonation of his voice suggested a level of irritability.
if my dad answers the phone, and youre calling for me..ANSWER MY FUCKING DAD! whoever you are. geezus. it's ok. im not a skoolgirl. you can call me..take me out..have sex with me as much as you want on countless friday nites, and i still wont become pregnant. geez. why do people fear my dad? answer the bloke.
but then again, i could be wrong..maybe that call wasnt even for me. maybe it was even a wrong number.

it's 10 on a friday nite and it looks like, by default, im gonna have to stay in and have an intimate evening with my ex phys. lecture notes, lab notes and text book with a supersized side of nasty fig bars that are horribly bad and horribly artificial.

it's 10 on a friday nite and that's ok. im not complaining. i laugh at things.
it's an adaptive quality that ive grown to use to my best ability.
maybe ill just go for a drive..i am pretty hungry.

[those damn fellas at google]

once i again, i wanted to accompany my entry with a picture. i searched "fig bar" and the above picture youre looking at is something that came up.
it's quite the interesting picture.
i really dont know what it suggests but ill guess it's trying to promote making your own make-shift high bar for anywhere you go.

now you, too, can perform men's gymnastics and do supercool moves - EVEN IN THE FOREST! look at tim go!

looks like no form of social interaction nor awareness of current events till monday nite.
no more fucking around.

A's.
cause im not satisfied.

next next week will be a well-deserved treat.
i hope you snots are free.

the end is in sight~!
the end is in sight~!
THE END IS IN SIGHT.

this all of course, is referring to how im on the downward, rollercoaster-like slope of my academic career in pursuit of this thing we regard as a bachelor's.

why are we open - why? why? why?!!

oh well. it's disciplinary.

i had these really really two good discussions last nite.
if youre reading this, then you know who you are.

it's funny.
what's funny?....

that's funny.
cause i can already see where that's going.

__________

as for now..its 6am and imma put some visine in my eyes, pour some coffee down my throat and eat some pb&honey on toast.

bring on those exams!!!!!!!
BRING IT.

or a horse...or a cheetah. i said cheetah..but did he race something? that was the discussion between myself and another kinesiologist colleague of mine on the long ass bus ride home. and i ask...that must be one helluva storm for the normal bus ride home (which usually spans 30-40mins) to be stretched out into 2 hours. i left skool at 4..i got home around 6. wow.
but it's ok, cause when your listening to stevie wonder's "isn't she lovely" while rolling along on awd, and giving the finger to numerous drivers at fault and who are driving extra slow and who aren't as privileged as you are to be driving a rally car in the cold ass, snow blowin' canadian climate. yes, it's good that way.

but back to this free biomech textbook. ill break it down for ya. there's about 300 people in my section. 10 people were to be chosen from each section to bascially do a book report on a new biomechanics text to be used in the near future. all i gotta do is read up on 2 chapters (which coincide with my biomechanics text that we're using now), say if i like the book or not along with the cd rom...suggest what could be done, if anything and hand that survey in in a few weeks. as for the text, i get to ultimately decide, along with 9 others from my section, in addition to the other 10 from the other section, if next years flock of students get to use this particular text book. and did i mention?...i get to keep the textbook regardless.
mcGraw-Hill textbook company, kinesiologists love you all over the world. thanks.

_________

as for charlize last nite. did you see her??!! ive always thought she was exceptional, but when she dresses up and gets down for those damn award galas...woooooooo-weeeeeee!!!!
i almost wanna strip down and roll around outside in the cold snow. wow..she's definitely up there now on that list. and she's from humble beginnings too. those are the best females.

that's amazing.

(what's amazing?? hahahah) so stupid.

but yea, she really is a dope actress and not just hawwwwwt like fire.
bravo.

and now, just like the last 4 days, i continue this studying for my two midterms (part I) this week.

stay in canadians around my hood, its a jungle out there.

i have to go to skool in about 3 hours.
this ain't right.

aside from that..i put together the best damn md's in all of the land!!

two-step is nice, yaaaaaah?
how about quad-step...we should make quad-step beats. and all the beats are off.

(?)

i don't mean to brag...but i'm king.

[insert arrogant laughter here]. i mean, it's not conceit when you can back it up right? brilliant words from my main man ravenloft.
where's this all coming from? well im taking this 4th year course entitled "gender and sport". obviously it's a very controversial class..obviously there's this big midterm on thursday im writing and obviously, that midterm is based on 10 readings..ahem..excuse me, 10 journal readings that i was assigned, and further, just finished reading this past week. but does that still provide explanation as to why i am the self-proclaimed king?
of course it does!
we'll talk about these last 3 years in university (i won't even mention the additional, minute amount i've flipped through in high skool). in the span of the last three years i've gone through dozens upon dozens of health science journals, kinetic journals, sport science and sports medicine journals...in addition, i've also read social science ones based on urban interactions, urban sprawl, urban development..along with my asian studies, going back to first year which looked at "orientalism", feudal japan...and historical china. so yea, i'm the king.. but you still ask..."how are you the king?"

well im the king of extraction - that's how i was crowned. i think im pretty damn good at this craft...thesis..main points..biases...statistical data...yep, although i got a lot to learn and more..hundreds more to read, i think im pretty sharp. nonetheless, im inclined to keep on keepin on and learning..so yea, there's really never a plateau or steady state to all this learning.

which brings me to the conclusion. i think all this reading - novels, magazines, how to launder & nutrition labels included, have all had their impact in my writing....(somehow). and i ask, if i ever do my own research..in the field...which ive done in the past already, mind you, would you be inclined to read my journals? im talking researched and in-depth. would you take me seriously (for some reason, i just started singing to myself eric clapton's tears in heaven - 'would you know my name, if i saw you in heaven?)??? readers, i mean youre nice enough to tune into here once in awhile and view my blogger, but imagine if i formally wrote?

journals and/or books, on my part, are what you should keep your eyes peeled on, in the near future.

thanks for countlessly and unconditionally lending me your visual cortex.

one more thing, i really gotta start crate-digging and basement rummaging; those creative writing assignments we were made to do in grade 2 were my pleasure...and my teachers' too. once i get a hold of those, consider them posted.

[the real king:
the people's king]

so many things to write about yet, i can't even get them down in an entry.

oh well..ill just have to get my butt back to studying.

gotta love those mother-son bonding moments.

i came home today. knowing my mom would be home, i called out for her to announce my arrival.

"MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!"

nobody answered.

seconds later i heard the toilet flush.
(laugh all you want, but it's serious. and no, my mom is not al bundy nor archie bunker).

i asked, "how come you didn't answer me mom? i called for you".
she replied, "i was in the middle of peeing. it's not lady-like to reply like that".

i answered, "all you had to say was, 'look boy, im peeing! leave me alone!".
i also gave alternatives such as, "yo! im peeing here, do you mind?!!" or the more popular, "shuddup, im conferencing here!"

she laughed. i laughed.
we both laughed.

my mom is funny.
it's her fault i am too.

she's the best.

hahahhhahahahhahaHALAL"
*it`s all in good humour, believe me i have many the arab friend*

[and i keep telling myself that i hate refined carbohydrates.
damn you gluten, youre my worst enemy...but youre so kind to my wallet.]

[the article blineguy wanted me to write (chinese pastries and what not)]
i have this deep love affair with the chinese egg tart. i can`t exactly pinpoint where it started as a childbut thanks to my parents or anyone else who`s been shoving those down my throat to this day, thank you for making me a strung-out fiend. within this text i won`t focus on how sweet and tasty that custard filling is or how i enjoy the flaky shells of that pastry and how they just melt in my mouth while i not only masticate but enjoy those God-sent, heavenly chinese delicacies everso gradually, savouring every second, every moment every interval of papillae stimulation - naw, i won`t talk about that. i`ll talk about everything else chinese pastries encompass on the macro-scale.
lets start with my friends at skool. the vast amount of chinese ones - they always seem to have an extra eggtart for me. i dunno if they have an easybake oven fired up under their lecture hall seat or if theyve beenstudying david copperfield`s magic but shoot, they really know how to implement an eggtart as an instrument of diversion on me. it`s like they`ve been watching one of those fosterparent a child from an underdeveloped country commercial where im the child and the spokesperson speaks in the background and exclaims, "for only 1 eggtart a month, you too can support this grown man in all of life`s endeavours so he, too, can one day blossom into something great and extraordinary". *camera zooms into my big ass teary eyes and fades out while heart-wrenching music plays*.
know what im sayin?
anyhow as for chinese pastries, think bout what your favourite is? is it the bbq pork bun with its baked goodness and sweetmeat filling..all red and attractive in colour? maybe you like flashing lights and fireworks, in that case, the corn, ham and mayo bun might be your thang. or maybe its the sesame ball..with the bean filling. those are pretty good too. or how bout the deep fried blackbean bun with the sugar coating - really bad for you but really good to ya. maybe your life requires that "tropical" flare and you need a coconut bun. maybe youre urban and very "street", in that case youd want the hotdog bun.
wanna talk locale?

well i`ve heard quite the amount of anectdotal evidence surrounding this area. chinese dude at work said "jay, you haven`t tried an eggtart till youve had a dim sum egg tart. well, hey, there`s one type i look forward to checking in the near future. blineguy, the imbicile who suggested i write about all of this says this little pastry shop on creditview has the best ones. there, they always mistaken him for being chinese. they talk to him in chinese and even give him hookups. i should check that out too (i doubt theyll think im chinese though. crap). big land farms on burnhamthorpe has a pretty good deal on my tarts goin at 2 for a buck - i can`t complain withthat now can i? then again, on hwy10, happy cake pastry shop has `em for 60cents each. however, although convenient to me, i feel the size of their tarts are kinda small and the shell itself could be better. then again, i shouldnt and cant knock them, moms always cops our pastries from them so disrespect and destructive criticism in this case is kinda wrong - ma bad. maybe it`s chinatown toronto along spadina...could be pac mall - but then again, last time i checked there, they didn`t even have anymore tarts left at their shop. bastards. whatever you like and wherever you like `em, im sure we all have our stories and preferences. one last thing, did i ever mention that i like eggtarts???....??? don`t think i did.

so i fell off the chair.

hahaahhahaahahahahahahahahaaaaaaha

aside, i need an exploding pineapple bomb. you know...with the sparkly wick and all.

one cold-ass winter day, a young man had an exercise physiology lab to attend to. he decided it would be in his best interest to arrive early at the laboratory - 15 minutes to be exact (for those of you lost in the realm of curiosity).
as he entered the room, he was greeted with the sight of many familiar contraptions, excercise machines and hums resonating from several computer monitors. there were also 4 group lab tables much like his last semester's lab. it was the same lab as a matter of fact. the young man also noticed that there were already 2 other lab participants who preceded his arrival. to the left table was a tall blonde caucasian woman; to the right was an older student, probably in his late 20s. he, too, was pigment-deprived. that left two empty group lab tables located to the far end of the room.
instead of joining either of the two, already seated lab attendees, the young man decided to state his claim on the far left table to the back of the room. minutes later, more people started to arrive to the first laboratory of the semester. one by one, each individual chose which tables to sit at, which would ultimately become their groups for the rest of the term every week.
for a several minutes of nobody joining his table, the young man began to wonder if he didn't smell right or if he had a nervous twitch. [from here, the rest of the story got cut off due to computer freezing difficulties. so please accept the sudden and quick ending]. eventually, a korean girl, chinese girl, taiwanese guy and chinese guy all joined the filipino man in their respective orders.
the lab later concluded with the filipino man doing strenuous, high-intensity cycling activity in order to obtain a reading on oxygen consumption during excercise. he looked very ridiculous with a tube in his mouth and supplemental nose-plug. he was very fatigued by the end of the whole matter.

the point of the story is...there is no point really.
however, the filipino noticed that he, in fact DID NOT have an aroma problem nor an uncontrollable nervous twitch. then again, it's totally up to you how this story ends and/or how you interpret it. maybe he did have these flaws and maybe these flaws were exactly what attracted his other asian counterparts.

those weirdos.

in reality there are two points to this story:
1. birds of the same feather flock together.
- it's weird. it's not coincidence. it just is. we'll call it subconscious, voluntary segregation.
2. now that's the motherfucking formation of an exercise physiology dreamteam!
- wow.

just some things to think about...socially.
just some things to think about...interactively.

then again, i attract latinas.
i tell myself that im their sweet prince.

yea right.

awd in the winter puts me on top - im the cream of the crop.

driving an all wheel drive vehicle is the dopeness. anyone ever do that? like say youre stuck in snowbank. in my case say you stuck in rj's steep-ass icy driveway. in that case, because each wheel has its own drivetrain, getting your ass outta that sticky situation is a laughing matter. so yea, if you live in canada, get an awdriven vehicle. drift turns are nice too...especially with stevie wonder bumpin on the speakers.

and all of you thought that gran turismo couldn't be applied to real life situations. HA!

i am overwhelmed with asian grocery stores. i really am. good thing i do the grocery shopping when we need "white" groceries. otherwise, it'd take 5 hours to attack what would normally be a 1 hour food-grabbing frenzy.
there are just so many different kinds of treats. from the 100's of different kinds of japanese, korean, chinese and filipino interpretations of what a shrimp chip should taste like to giant pocky sticks (or battle staffs - whatever you wanna call 'em) that you could lead a small african tribe into battle with to deciding if 10 cents more is really a big difference between a mango NECTAR and a mango JUICE.
asian grocery stores, i love you.
we need more of you.
i am proud.

one last thing, im so happy yet so dumbass.
happy cause i stayed and finished my lab today. i couldve easily given up out of frustration and went home.
dumbass cause it took me 3 hours to do a 1 hour lab in biomech. it's all good though, i finished and i never tapped out.
and really, why would you wanna put a time limit on doing something that you love doing?

congratulations to myself. i am now dealing with the meat and potatoes of everything we stand for.

g'nite.

just do it.

i did.

i ran an 8 minute mile in track class today.
i ran an 8 minute mile in the shittiest shoes used for doing just that.
i ran an 8 minute mile in my nike shox.
i ran an 8 minute mile in my nike shox and then had to go to biomechanics right after.
i ran an 8 minute mile in track class today.

that's not good enough. it's poor actually.
today is the 12th day of january. i finish this track class sometime in late march or april. by then, i have promised myself that imma cut that time down to 6 minutes. that's a 6 minute mile - at the very minimum.

oi.

yea! rj used my comment box. fock-ah.

it's all bullshit.
take it from a kinesiologist, this shoe is anatomically unsound for any of your uses.

however, im a moron.

how i choose my trainers:
1. looks
2. price
3. function

sad, but true.
oh well, where the honda civic is the staple for the ricer, my trainers do the same thing for me. cept in my case, i actually have the horsepower - but that doesnt mean im mr. ed. i just have the horses...not no horse am i.

legit.

wow, by my own standards, i haven't been on here for awhile.

let' just say skool is really a good place to be.
i got the meat and potatoes of my field this semester. there's nutrition, there's excercise physiology and there's biomechanics. but those are just the cores. i also got abnormal psychology and gender and sport as my electives.

so yea...theyre all heavyweight courses but oh well i have a fondness for each and every one of em. besides, all my old friends are back in my classes, i have a few past profs instructing me (who actually know me) and i have a better spaced out schedule. so why would i complain?

thats the thing, im not and dont!
i even have track and field this sem. awww yea!

i also look forward to debating every thursday in my gender and sport class. awesome! yanno by the way, last class i got grouped into a group of females. but that's not it...these were no ordinary women, a couple of them were femme fatales. one played bball in florida for the ncaa and another played on the canadian junior girls' field hockey team. talk about the above and beyond female specimens...and of course taking gender and sport! go femme athletes, more power to ya.

____________

aside from that quick first week of this semester, i downed alotta cash. as i dropped ever duccet for every textbook, course kit and lab manual this semester, i could almost feel a whole burning though my pocket and into my thigh. i swear i could. but oh well...i love my books.

____________

one last thing, it's 12 weeks.
one week down, that makes it 11 weeks. and we still have a reading week in there somewhere plus the Easter off days. so yea, put things in perspective, i sure am.

see ya fools.......when i see ya fools.

like rj said, we each have our own individual wars.
it's true.
i checked my kinesiology and health science handbook and noticed that as of the end of this study period, imma be done all my core kinesiology courses!! that means i just gotta take my electives next year to finish up and badda-bing badda-bang, i gets my degree!

this is happening way too fast, i need magnetic breaks.

one more time.
12 weeks. 1 week down.

p.s. i know this entry sucked. deal with it.

[jay`s top 3 gifts got]

(i didn`t want anything this year, but hey, im not one to waste)
1. g.i. joe navajo code talker
- indirect gift via cash
- a 12-inch action figure (not a dildo, mind you) that is an ethnic minority (i declare a new collection - if anyone can find them: gi. joe japanese kamikaze solider and northern vietnamese regular from ultimate soldier would certainly be nice for future gift referencing. but if you really wanna knock my socks off, the rare philippine soldier from the `battle of bata`an` would just be supreme elation for me (note me for fedex info).
- it can say 7 different phrases in navajo and english tongue
- the navajo natives assisted the u.s. army in WWII to help transmit secret coding by radio to other nearby forces. even the whiteman needs the help of the redskinned man sometimes yanno.
2. 2 insane, crazy books, that i have most certainly fallen in lust with
- direct gift; well thought out and well shopped around for
- very rare
(a)move the crowd: voices and faces of the hip hop nation - gregor anddimitri ehrlich
- famous quotes fromthe pioneers and innovators of hip hop
- cop it now
(b)ego trip`s book of rap lists
- an assortment of hip hop lists compiled together in one big-ass, bad, dope, super fresh &phat book about hip hop - from "kool dj red alert`sessential old skool round up" to "10 reasons why rap will never die"
- made merealize, and quote me if you will, that "there are so many books to purchase yet so few coffee tables to place them on"
3. spike jonze dvd
- indirect gift via hmv gift certificate
- a collection ofspike`s directions and short films - could i ask for more?
- you might be familiar with the videos "drop" by the pharcyde, "weapon of choice" by fatboy slim, weezer`s "buddy holly" and film, "being john malkovich" (plus much much more bout 4 hours worth)
- not quite the crown jewel of my dvd collection but hey, i`d call it the king`s gold tooth - so it`s up there.

[pensively twenty-o-three]
well i take every year as a chapter outta life`s textbook. so we`re at the end of the year or maybe even in the new year, depending on when youre reading this. let`s review then think about where we can apply the concepts. dont worry, all answers are correct ones.
so what`s been learned? well for one thing, i dunno if it was the yoga or the tai chi but im feelin more balanced. im so grounded and better at calming myself nowadays. some might think, "jay`s a pretty laid back guy..if he calms down anymore, he`ll probably be clinically dead". and that might be the case but hey, all i can say is i`ve grown to be more calm in the past year. what else? let`s see....i`ve learned to appreciate simplicity a little more. that could be a sure sign of aging. i mean aside from my love of high-end european sports cars, i can say honestly, that i enjoy the very simple things. it can be a simple meal like a hamburger done really good or a girl with no make up prancing around town with her wind in the air, wearing a nice summerdress..yea..things like that, na`mean? any of that hocus pocus, flashing lights and fireworks crap just doesnt do it for me like it used to. what else? what else??? checked one of life`s personal pinnacles on jay`s list - that is copping my driver`s licence (finally)..and man oh man whatta great feeling and helpful use that was. now i can drive around anywhere as much as i want to. i can drive with a beer in my system.but i wont..i can weavethrough traffic, i can hit small animals or even big ones for that matter. but yea...i copped my licence. now, oncemy brother gets his own car...the jaypreza is mine, baby,..all mine!! these past weeks ive learned endurance. im not even talking about running a marathon or holding 25 kilo ax handles with my arms stretched out to the sides like they do in the world`s strongest man competition...yes folks, i stayed up for 40 hours straight without a wink of sleep. all for what? for studying of course. it`s like my friend in waterloo says..its almost his motto..."all this studying just to fail"...hahahah. believe me kids, id say 1st and 3rd are the hardest years of university. but then again, i haven`t even had a 4th year out-of-body whoopi-golberg-experience-like-in-ghost - so am i really correct in making that statement? who knows. all i know is they don`t give degrees and diplomas outta cereal boxes. earn yours, you snot-noses. in relation to skool, a big achievement was my brother claiming his ground in this world and finally completing his studies in electrical engineering. he has this magical ring that all engineers get. he has a degree now. hes a professional but thats not the point. his diploma over the mantle of our fireplace reminds me everyday that it is possible. it really is. there`s so much more to talk about, but really, i hate getting all personal on this...let`s move on to more (self-proclaimed) astonishing things to read, shall we?....before we go, summer was good, winter is good, fall was nice and spring was great. thanks to everyone who was taught and who taught.

"dont make me hit you, you big turd-of-a-manatee. dont make me hit you!i have goodyear tires. dont make mehit you! i have my licence, ill hit you!"

moving along....

[my fortune cookie always said: you`re an asian man in a white man`s world...good luck you hopeless dogeatingbastard]
[12.30.03]
asians in the media? i never thought asians could be in the media. i only thought they worked in the factories that make the cameras and other equipment that facilitate the media`s presentations. never in my wildest dreams would i think they`d be glorified on film.
and boy, am i right!!!
(gotta love those wild, untameable dreams that are never imagineable, eh?)
our roles suck-ass. let`s take the last samurai..no im not over examining the movie but really, a white samurai? before i get into this, please study your history books, kids. please turn to feudal japan and the edo period before you oversaturate my notebox with messages stating how stupid and racist i am. im not. i love whitey...dont get me wrong. im just vexed how mr. and mrs. yellow are represented - IN THEIR OWN ROLES! i should`ve used NOT represented as my word of choice right there..oops. but anyways, a white samurai..saving all the helpless japanese people. thank you, mr. last man standing over all the imcompetent, helpless asians. thank you, my saviour. it wouldn`t be possible otherwise.
give me a break! before you feed me this crap, i`d like to see jason scott lee in some better roles. heck for every 1 stupid depiction of asian culture in american cinema, we should see 5 asian cowboys.
an american ninja..remember that??? if youre gonna give me an american ninja, then give me an asian astronaut, asian heart-throb and asian war hero to counterbalance the effects of all the previous movies and mediums upto date in which asians were falisfied.

think of how stupid that is. let`s flip it too...what if you saw josh hartnett in boyz n the hood in place of ice cube?
excuse my swahili, but that`d be fucking absurd!

what`s the difference with mr. days of thunder wielding a thundering ginsu?

breathe. meditate on that notion and reread if you must.
after that...go make yourself some ramen and inhale the vapours eminating from your sexy styrofoam bowl of dehydrated noodles - high in sodium.
don`t let the chili burn you, now.

i sit here suited in my boxer briefs and a tank top.

that damn big brother of speed racer, rex aka "racer-X", who ran away mind you, always comes thru to help out.
i was just watching speedvision and holy smoked cheddar!! ......there's a speedracer marathon goin on allllll day long!
will i stay in and watch that? id like to, but i wont...there's only 3 more days of break - speedracer will always be around. however, i just wanted to spit about this particular episode that i just caught as i was gobbling my morning spam and egg combo for breakfast.

speed racer and the rest of the gang along with the mach5 (that's sucha fucking dope car. i really need that car) were entered in this cross-border race. any contestant could've and did enter. one contestant that did enter, and should be made note of was the mammoth car. it was 200 yards long, had an engine dedicated to each individual tire. what's crazy is the fact that each engine had 1500 horses!! and that's in addition to the main engine up front. well the story bout the mammoth car is that it had 50 million bucks worth of gold bricks being smuggled on deck. it was speed's job to find out what the deal was with this car, why it was killing everyone else in the race and who was behind all this smuggling.

well this entry is pretty pointless up till this point but man o man...speed racer rocks!!
get off now and watch speed racer..that's if the damn marathon is still on.
