someone (probably my dad) turned off the a/c in the middle of the nite. that's why im here; well that and the fact that i had to pee.

so i didnt mention the whole air france incident here in toronto. if you didnt know, an air france plane burst into flames after overshooting the runway at pearson international airport. the miraculous thing is that all 390 passengers survived the crash and there were a mere 14 injuries that wouldnt even be close to falling into the "serious" category.

usatoday.com denies calling this a miracle.

fuck that, i say it was a miracle. whether youre a spiritual person or not,to say that better air plane materials..or lighting...or the type of air freshener used in today's commercial planes or whatever reason was the main factor in survival rate is bogus. if that's the case, then why are there so many other massive plane accidents where people die? this was truly a miracle. whether you like to connote miracles as "luck" or not...this was the will of a higher power.

390 with mere scrapes and bruises.

in other news, the local asian supermarket by my hood - the same one where i bought the mango & peach drink mentioned in my last post (see below), is closing down. theyve been having a big sale since last thursday where everything is buy one get one free. im left here to wonder, does this really apply to everything????

i should head over there real soon and stock up on mango nectar, shrimp chips, some short ribs (the same kind that i threw up at camping two weekends back) tofu and hotsauces...and what the heck, let's throw in some strawberry pocky.

i would usually feel heavy-hearted at the fact that an asian market on the scale of big land farms is closing down, but im not, because even closer to my hood, probably a 15 minute walk for me, a T&T supermarket is opening up. my family has been blessed twice.

and who wouldve thought my community, mississauga, started off with the pioneer asian market - the old and dingy "oriental market" over on dundas and confederation? who wouldve thunk it?

asian earned dollars into asian pockets; aint nuttin wrong with that.
