that's going back to friday nite's dinner by the way.
so im back..i haven't had an authentic update in awhile, which is pretty good considering i never shut up.
considering that i haven't spat in awhile, let's talk about several things, shall we? we'll have an assorted update..sort of like an assorted submarine sandwich - where you get different kinds of meat and fixins...
new hops
im gonna buy new shoes today. ive been needing new shoes for awhile now considering the current state of my nike tuned airs from several years back..that i cant part with and the current discomfort & overheating of my leather nike shox during my fitness.
time out, time out..i know nike isnt the most scientifically appropriate shoe for running or cross training..yes, im a kinesiologist..but even non-kins know this. nike is just a big multinational company that preys on underdeveloped countries etc etc...
yes, im very aware of this.
but shit...i like their designs. i really do! i really do! and in the future, im hoping to land a job with them over in portland..so that happens to be a chapter of my future, know, ill do everything in my power to scientifically, anatomically-correctly and biomechanically improve their kicks.
back to my shoe though..i was searching in stores..some of you know i was intrested in a $160 air max..and yes, i was close to buying them. however, after some thought and realizations, a $160+tax shoe just isn't in my budget. and besides, these shoes are going to take a beating from me this year - via all the running imma be doing.
so i saw a pair...and it just so happens one of my boys works at the store..so yea, that's 25% off a $129 dollar shoe. that adds up to something along the lines of $110 in total with taxes included. not bad i say.
over the past hour..i was researching some shoes...
this is what about.com had to say about the
top 10 gifts for active men
and what do i find???...my shoe of interest is on there! wow. now considering that im not on anyone's list for gift-buying anytime soon, and considering that i need a black running shoe, i think imma treat myself to a pair of these bad boys.
the nike storm pegasus.
voila.
come tonite, imma cop them..you'll see. you just wait and see.
size 8.5 or 9 please!!!
yes, my dick is small!
welcome back to hell
so i rejoined the old gym we call the YMCA. i left cause i was fed up..and frankly, once i turned 22 they were planning on charging me 50smackeroonies a month. i said fuck that! so i used my own knowledge and trained myself..whether it was formally through personal instruction through kickboxing and jeet kune do..or at the skool's gym..or just plain running.
nonetheless...i came back for a little weight usage, pool usage and track usage.
one thing i noticed...was that it's the same old bullshit there still. same fucks who frequent the gym talking about what workout works and what supplement is the shizzz...let me tell you, i left a year ago..and i dont see any improvements in any of these morons.
beyond that..there are more kids, more 'tourists' and more membership fees to be paid. on the 'less' side..there's less parking and less room. it's ok though. just for the remainder of the summer, i remind myself..just for the remainder of the summer.
btw...i dont care much for personal trainers at the YMCA. sure most of them are kine majors. this doesnt apply to them. but if youre a newskool personal trainer, and you just took a weekend brush-up course on 'how to be a personal trainer in 10 hours' or if you got your certification out of your box of shreddies...then i can only conclude that your training regimens suck ass..and your clients arent working to their full potential.
and please, if this applies to you, then eat shit.
and please..if this applies to you, know that i know your watching me.
if this is the case, i dont really give a shit, cause i know and we all know im more qualified than you are.
shit, i just dedicated my past 3 years of univerisity to the artform of fitness..and beyond that, ive been seriously physically active in strength training since i was 17. so yeah..shut the fuck up and dont give people advice when they dont ask you.
that's my little rant about gyms and the whole culture of fitness. more to come, im sure you're all sure.
fucking posers.
fucking tourists.
i might not be the smartest kinesiologist and im far from being the smartest scientist..but shit, i take my craft very seriously.
hmmm? wht else...
