why do we always gotta fix shit?
how far do we have to go to improve the quality of life?
what's a quality life?

now i dunno what the hell im talkn bout...anyhow...

i was doing some online reading, and it appears to me that they've just taken it a bit too far. you gotta be fucking kidding me. and this isnt even about me hatin' on ipod, cause i think the ipod is pretty cool..just not cool enough for me - cause im super-dooper cool. anyhow, if this little contraption ever makes its way into the mass market, i'd lose of my affinity and appreciation towards the d.j. (if placed in this too-advanced and futuristic scenario); id also lose my appreciation for the sexy female dj.

dj's are artists too. turntablism is art. whether you spin house or disco, funk or industrial, breaks or downtempo, being able to fade properly, beat-juggle, hype a crowd, make a whole song out of a 2 second break sample (really, the basis of hip hop) off vinyl takes a trained ear and some fine motor skills. yea yea...you can argue digital music is the wave of the future, but there's that nostalgia attached to vinyl, records and the dj. sure, the sound isnt crystal clear like on a cd, but that's what makes a record a record. when you buy a record; when you buy vinyl, youre getting an actual replica of the master template from which the original studio and recording from where that artist or sound was created.

this digital/ipod-turntable (if you can even call it a turntable) is just too much.
keep the dj alive...but for fuck's sake, dont give him or her 4 prosthetic arms.

"my name is shannyn sossamon. im an actress, but im also a sexy dj.
im also half-filipino and dare i mention how much i love jay and his great blog?!!
oh yea, i also think the ipod turntable sucks donkeys."

"hey there, my name is fatboy slim and i love my motherfunkin' vinyl.
balls to that thing that jay's talkin about."

there you go...two dj's have spoken. you heard it here first.
there's the scoop.
