caller: hi is your dad home?

jay: no, he's not in right now; can i take a message?

c: well, he was supposed to come here; there's a light hanging and it could seriously hurt somebody.

j: sorry to hear that, when he gets in, i'll let him know you called and i'll be sure to let him know it's an emergency.

c: yes....

j: .....???....????.....

c: ...cause there's this light here, and it's hanging. it's very dangerous. it could seriously fall on someone's head and hurt someone. it's dangerous, you know? he was supposed to come here.

j: yes, i understand. he has no pager or cell phone; i havent seen him today; i haven't seen him yesterday. he's out right now, but i'll let him know.

c: it's hanging here and it's dangerou-

j: as soon as i see him, i'll let him know you called. BYE. [hang up and abruptly end conversation]

[foot notes] my dad has been a part of the construction industry for roughly 25 years; these are the types of calls i come across every day. to me, it really ain't no thang cause i've learned over the years to manage my stress. even moronic pond-scums like this caller do not have the slightest power over my self-control. let it be known however, my fun-loving and dedicated blogging audience, if you call a construction/renovation/maintenance person or anyone in the industry or other service industry to service you in the future, please be aware that if they are a private-based company, such as my pops' is, the phone number you call to contact them is usually a home phone number. there are no secrateries, it is not a big corporation and we do not make big bucks here. it's simply a normal household like yours, with kids, possibly grown adults, who answer the phones. in other words, please understand or try to understand for that matter that whoever answers the phone in this situation, has absolutely no control over the well-being and service of your home's well-being. also, whoever answers the phone in this situation will most likely have no clue what the hell is going on with their renovation/filipino-bob villaesque dad and his whereabouts, so please leave your beef (curry) at home to yourself where it belongs.

'preciate it.
