iris chang.
"engaged with life, committed to her causes, her writing and her family."

she wrote about the japanese occupation in china, asian-americans and the asian condition in general.
it's ironic: although asians, as a whole, are the most populous ethnic group in the world, they get little or no voice in popular culture.
the death of iris chang, an asian-american author, is a loss to our community. maybe some of us didn't read her works and maybe some of us never heard of her name but one thing's for sure - she got
our voices heard; shit, she's just one of a handful out there who even give us a voice.

without representation, people get distorted views of reality.
