for real.
by the way, this cd is just too dope.
if youre 22 or older, you'll know why.

elsewhere in my world, it's a
real and i mean
real different story when your own ass becomes the case study. you can even flip that notion and say the case study became reality. after i took my ethics of kinesiology course, my ability to reason became sharper than a set of ginsu knives. that course exceeded my expectations by going through all things (well almost all things possible to the human experience) that a kinesiologist, whether involved in the biomedical, teaching, rehab or athletic aspects, might come across. one of the cases that we had a heated discussion on was surrounding the whole
terry shiavo case. there were many positions taken by everyone in class. whether youre male or female, religious, athiest or agnostic you have your own conclusions based on what you were taught or experienced.
i have my own too. i mean, really, i have my own opinion regarding the whole 'remove the feeding tube/life support' dilemma. and let it be known for the record that what i believe is based on my own principles rather than
fully on what the catholic church tells me to believe. if youre wondering, i think it's very wrong to let someone die if it's possible to prolong their life. you can come at me and refute me all you want, and thats cool, but i have my own opinion that im entitled to just like you are..so i'd respect it if you respected it.
bringing me back to this whole life support ethical dilemma - a friend of the family (which i consider family) recently had a serious health problem that affected their daily functioning. people might call these people a vegetable or 'brain dead' or even unable to function on their own, but i ask, who are you to say if a person's suffering or not? i mean when they took that feeding tube out of terry shiavo, she didnt exactly die a peaceful death. as a matter of fact, she died a slow death. in fact, she starved to death. how is that humane?
on the flipside, i can hardly imagine how hard coping is for this family friend's loved ones. in other words, im walking the line between choices concerning the whole life-support position that i stated earlier. im on the fence.
reading some measily case study and actually being the case study are two different things, no doubt.
in closing, i'd like to say for all the parents contemplating abortion, or families deciding whether or not to continue life support for their hospitalized loved ones, youre in my prayers.

[a charmed life]
